Cameron’s Life Story
At 91 years of age Cameron decided to put down his story for his sons and descendents.
Growing up in Glasgow, Scotland, Cameron has led a very full life. As an accomplished amateur cyclist and swimmer at an early age, a professional artist who has won many awards, a D-Day Veteran and immigrant to Australia, Cameron’s life story contains details of the ordinary and the not so ordinary.
“The boys will love this! I have enjoyed doing every moment of it. It’s fantastic!”
Parts of Cameron’s life story his children may have heard over the years but many more details and stories emerged as we worked together on his life story project. Stories his family hadn’t yet heard about his life and details of his forbears.
One of the amazing stories that Cameron recounts in his life story project is when he met two Dutch women at the World War II 65th D-Day landing celebrations. These Dutch women he first met when they were young girls and he was just a young soldier during those last harrowing days of World War II and through a stroke of good fortune was able to be reunited with them for the first time in 65 years in October 2009.
